The Burlington Watch Co. was a subsidiary of the Illinois Watch Co., which was in operation from 1869-1948 and produced some of the best railroad-grade movements ever manufactured. Burlington watches were produced by Illinois in their factory in Springfield, Illinois and the company was headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

This Burlington watch, crafted in Springfield, Illinois, was completed in 1920. It features a 21-jewel movement produced between 1913 and 1929 in collaboration with the Illinois Watch Company. The movement is in outstanding condition and has been refinished with blue accents by thermally heating each component using traditional watchmaking techniques. The jewel settings have been restored to their original golden hue, and the watch plates have been carefully returned to their pristine silver finish. The hands have also been restored using the same thermal treatment process. The porcelain-enamel dial, in excellent condition, showcases bold Arabic numerals in a style unique to American railroad dials. These numerals are among the most distinctive and unique found on American railroad dials.

The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
