Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.

This Elgin pocket watch was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and completed in 1922. It features Elgin’s in-house 21-jewel "Father Time" movement, a railroad-grade chronometer. The movement has been restored and custom refinished with blue accents, achieved by thermally treating each iron-based component by hand. The hands of the watch have also been restored using this same thermal treatment process. The porcelain-enamel Elgin dial is in flawless condition and features a Montgomery design, with minutes marked around the edge, a signature style for railroad-grade pocket watches. The watch is housed in its original gold filled "B&B Royal 20 Years" case. The movement is mounted on a hinge and can be accessed by removing the front bezel, while the caseback remains solid and non-removable. This design was intended to minimize the entry of dust and debris into the movement, a common feature in railroad chronometers to ensure maximum protection from the elements.
