Hamilton 940 pocket watch from 1920

Hamilton Watch Co. was in operation from 1892-1969 and manufactured some of the highest end, most accurate watches ever produced. Manufacturing of Hamilton watches took place at their facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

This Hamilton timepiece was crafted in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1920. It is powered by the 940-grade movement—an in-house Hamilton caliber with 21 jewels, produced between 1898 and 1924. This was a flagship 18-size piece for Hamilton and was one of their top railroad chronometers. The jewel material is ruby, and the jewel settings are 14-karat gold. The movement has been restored and custom refinished with blue accents, achieved by thermally treating each iron component by hand. The hands have also been restored to a deep blue hue using the same thermal treatment process. The porcelain-enamel dial is in excellent condition, and the Hamilton logo at the center of the dial is in an elegant font.

The timepiece is housed in its original Silveroid pocket watch case with both front and back hinged casebacks. The watch is "lever-set," meaning the time is set by pulling out a setting lever. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
