American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

The dial on this 1901 Waltham is nothing short of remarkable—a porcelain-enamel masterpiece that captures the spirit of early American artistry. At its center is a delicate floral motif, likely inspired by thistles native to Massachusetts at the turn of the century, accented by a dragonfly drifting gracefully off the bouquet. The perimeter features a minute track of alternating silver and gold circles, giving the dial depth and subtle shimmer in changing light. Its ivory surface remains flawless, retaining the original Waltham signature and a composition that feels both elegant and alive. The Louis XIV-style hands remain unrestored in their original golden tone, perfectly complementing the dial and providing natural contrast across its surface. Beneath this display of craftsmanship lies Waltham’s 15-jewel Seaside grade movement, produced in Waltham, Massachusetts between 1896 and 1912. It features an exposed mainspring barrel and a nickel finish with fine damaskeening—a decorative engine-turned pattern that creates soft waves of reflected light. Every component was restored by hand: screws and hardware were thermally blued over an open flame (read more here), while the jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually polished to bring back their original golden glow. This piece embodies the blend of art and engineering that defined the golden era of American watchmaking—now fully restored and ready for a new wrist in our Little Rock workshop.

The timepiece is housed in a surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case with a 40 mm diameter—offering one of the best fits for any conversion available. The case includes both caseback and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
