Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.

The interplay between the multichromatic dial and our Heritage Bronze case is immediately striking. With its 93 percent copper composition, the bronze carries a natural warmth that leans toward soft rose tones, deepening subtly as it ages. That warmth mirrors the golden accents across the porcelain enamel dial in a way that feels almost intentional, even though the two were never originally paired. The golden and pink elements set between each numeral catch the light and reflect gently against the bronze bezel, while the five minute markers around the perimeter reinforce that same warmth. Even the small motif beneath the Elgin signature adds just enough contrast to make the bronze case appear richer and more dimensional. This is one of those combinations where the case does more than frame the dial. It actively brings it to life. Beneath the dial sits Elgin Grade 295, completed in Elgin, Illinois in 1905. This 15 jewel movement was produced between 1904 and 1921 and has long been regarded as one of the most reliable 6 size calibers Elgin produced. The movement was fully refinished in our workshop in Little Rock, Arkansas. Screws and steel components were thermally colored one at a time over an alcohol lamp using slow, controlled heat, producing deep blue accents while improving corrosion resistance (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden tone. Finished with restored Louis XIV hands, the entire piece comes together with a clean, cohesive look that remains true to its early 20th century origins.

The movement is set in our custom 40 mm conversion case crafted from solid bronze. This size offers a balanced fit on the wrist, making it one of the most versatile proportions available in any conversion. The case is built with crown and caseback gaskets, tested to 50 meters of water resistance, though removal before swimming or showering is recommended. Fully serviced and regulated, this watch is ready for years of reliable wear and appreciation.
