Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
Simple, elegant, and unmistakably Elgin. The porcelain-enamel dial features the Elgin signature displayed on a flowing banner that seems to wave softly across the center of the dial—a detail that adds motion and charm to its otherwise refined simplicity. Roman numerals surround the dial, balanced by a crisp outer minute track that ties the composition together with perfect symmetry and proportion. Beneath this classic face lies Elgin’s 15-jewel Grade 295 movement, crafted in Elgin, Illinois, and completed in 1904. Produced between 1904 and 1921, this caliber is recognized for its exposed mainspring barrel and striking damaskeening—a decorative pattern that ripples across the plates in rhythmic, engine-turned waves. Each component has been meticulously restored in our Little Rock, Arkansas workshop: screws and hardware thermally blued by hand (read more here), while the jewel settings and gear train were polished to a warm golden hue. The hands remain in their original finish, offering a subtle contrast that complements the dial’s elegance. The result is a piece that feels both graceful and purposeful—an authentic reflection of Elgin’s early-20th-century artistry, where beauty and precision move together in harmony.
The timepiece is housed in our 40 mm surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed for one of the best fits available in any conversion. Engineered with both caseback and crown gaskets, it offers water resistance up to 50 meters (though it is recommended to remove the watch before water activities). Fully serviced and carefully inspected, this watch is ready for your next adventure.
