Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.

This Elgin timepiece from 1905 centers around a beautifully preserved porcelain enamel dial. The Elgin insignia rests within an ornate banner at the center, adding a decorative flourish that draws the eye without interrupting the dial’s symmetry. Roman numerals circle the perimeter in crisp black, supported by a clean outer minute track with red numerals at each five minute interval. It is a design that feels expressive yet balanced, with every detail contributing to clarity. Beneath the dial is Elgins 15 jewel Grade 295 movement, completed in Elgin, Illinois in 1905. This caliber ran from 1904 to 1921 and is admired for its exposed mainspring barrel and sweeping wave like damaskeening. Early twentieth century Elgin artistry is on full display, made even more striking after restoration. The movement was fully refinished in our Little Rock, Arkansas workshop. All screws and hardware were thermally blued by hand, producing deep iridescent tones unique to open flame work (read more here). The gear train, jewel settings, balance, and balance weights were polished to restore their warm golden sheen. The hands were not restored and remain in their original heat blued condition, offering a direct and authentic connection to the watch’s heritage. This is a well preserved example of Elgin craftsmanship from the early 1900s, brought forward with care and modernized to be worn on the wrist.

The timepiece is housed in our 40 mm surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed for one of the best fits available in any conversion. Engineered with both caseback and crown gaskets, it offers water resistance up to 50 meters (though it is recommended to remove the watch before water activities). Fully serviced and carefully inspected, this watch is ready for your next adventure.
