American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.
This Waltham timepiece was crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts, and completed in 1898. It is powered by the 15 jewel Seaside grade, a movement produced between 1896 and 1912. The movement features an exposed mainspring barrel and richly patterned damaskeening that gives it real depth and character. Every component was carefully refinished, with blue accents applied to the screws and steel hardware by hand over an alcohol lamp. This traditional watchmaking technique improves corrosion resistance while adding subtle visual contrast (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden sheen. The original heat blued hands remain untouched and provide striking contrast against the dial. The porcelain enamel dial is flawless and features elegant Arabic numerals with curved 2s, 3s, and 6s. The outer minute track uses bold triangles at fifteen minute intervals, with strong indices at five minute increments in between. The result is a dial that is clean, balanced, and instantly legible. The cursive Waltham signature at the center adds just enough elegance to bring the entire face together.
The timepiece is housed in our surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case with a 40 mm diameter—offering one of the best fits for any conversion available. The case includes both caseback and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
