American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

The railroad porcelain enamel dial is the defining feature of this Waltham, crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts and completed in 1907. The dial is in excellent condition and represents the classic railroad layout, featuring bold black Arabic numerals and an outer minute track with red markers at five minute intervals. The Waltham signature is centered and prominent, completing the quintessential dial design that defined the American railroad era and helped keep the nation’s trains running on time. The original steel hands are unrestored and remain in excellent condition. Their dark tone against the bright white enamel dial creates striking contrast and exceptional legibility. Beneath the dial is Waltham’s 15 jewel Grade V movement, produced between 1898 and 1916. The movement features an exposed mainspring barrel and richly executed Geneva stripe damaskeening. Every component was carefully refinished in our workshop in Little Rock, Arkansas. Screws and steel hardware were thermally blued by hand using a traditional open flame technique that improves corrosion resistance while adding subtle visual contrast(read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden sheen. Altogether, this piece represents one of the most iconic and historically important dial designs of the American railroad era, preserved and rebuilt to be worn and appreciated for another century.

The timepiece is housed in a surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case with a 40 mm diameter—offering one of the best fits for any conversion available. The case includes both caseback and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
