American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

The multichromatic porcelain enamel dial features golden motifs separating the inner and outer dial, with crisp Arabic numerals that make timekeeping effortless. A cursive Waltham signature at the center adds a subtle decorative element, while the clean outer minute track, marked by bold indices every five minutes, provides excellent legibility. This piece was originally crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts and completed in 1902. It is powered by the 15 jewel Seaside grade, a movement produced between 1896 and 1912. The movement features an exposed mainspring barrel and richly patterned damaskeening that gives it real depth and character. Every component was carefully refinished in our Little Rock, Arkansas workshop. Blue accents were applied to the screws and steel hardware by hand over an alcohol lamp, a traditional open flame technique that improves corrosion resistance while adding subtle visual contrast (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden sheen. The hands were polished to a mirror finish to remove corrosion and then heat blued by hand over an alcohol lamp, imparting a deep iridescent blue that contrasts beautifully against the white dial. This is the same period correct bluing method originally used by Waltham at the time of manufacture, maintaining full historical and artistic integrity.

The movement is set in a custom 40 mm conversion case crafted from solid bronze. This size offers a balanced fit on the wrist, making it one of the most versatile proportions available in any conversion. The case is built with crown and caseback gaskets, tested to 50 meters of water resistance, though removal before swimming or showering is recommended. Fully serviced and regulated, this watch is ready for years of reliable wear and appreciation.
