American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

The porcelain enamel dial features a classic railroad layout but with Roman numerals in place of Arabic offering a refined twist on a highly legible design. The Roman numerals give the dial an elegant uplift while preserving the clarity that made railroad dials so iconic. A cursive Waltham signature at the center adds a subtle decorative touch, and the red minute markers along the perimeter provide crisp contrast that makes the dial exceptionally easy to read. This piece was originally crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts and completed in 1902. It is powered by the 15 jewel Seaside grade, a movement produced between 1896 and 1912. The movement features an exposed mainspring barrel and richly patterned damaskeening that gives it real depth and character. Every component was carefully refinished in our Little Rock, Arkansas workshop. Blue accents were applied to the screws and steel hardware by hand over an alcohol lamp, a traditional open-flame technique that improves corrosion resistance while adding subtle visual contrast (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden sheen. The hands were polished to a mirror finish to remove corrosion and then heat blued by hand over an alcohol lamp, imparting a deep iridescent blue that contrasts beautifully against the white dial. This is the same period-correct bluing method originally used by Waltham at the time of manufacture, maintaining full historical and artistic integrity.

The timepiece is housed in our surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case with a 40 mm diameter—offering one of the best fits for any conversion available. The case includes both caseback and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
