American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

The porcelain-enamel dial is what defines this piece. Its deep black numerals sit in perfect contrast against the bright enamel surface, and the crisp red minute markers circling the edge give it that unmistakable railroad energy. The sub-seconds register at 6 anchors the layout and underscores exactly why these early American dials became the standard for clarity on the rails. It is simple, balanced, and incredibly easy to read at a glance. Behind the dial sits Waltham’s Seaside grade movement, a 15-jewel caliber completed in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1903. This family of movements—built from the late 1890s through the early 1910s—is known for its exposed mainspring barrel and clean, sweeping damaskeening that catches the light as you tilt the watch. In our Little Rock, Arkansas workshop, every surface was brought back to life by hand. Screws and steel hardware were individually heat-blued over an open flame (read more here), and each jewel setting, gear train component, balance, and balance weight was polished to return its warm golden tone. A classic American railroad dial paired with a beautifully restored Seaside movement—clean, honest, and built for everyday use.

The timepiece is housed in our 40 mm surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case—one of the most balanced and wearable sizes for any American conversion. The case features both crown and caseback gaskets, offering water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is best to remove the watch before swimming or submerging it in water. Fully serviced and tested, the piece is ready for years of reliable performance and everyday wear.
