American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Our Heritage Bronze case is precision machined from solid bronze containing 93 percent copper. The alloy’s warm rose-gold undertones deepen with wear, building a natural patina that makes each piece genuinely unique. From the coined-edge bezel to the proportioned lugs and matching bronze crown, every surface was designed to take on character over time. This is a living finish meant to evolve with its wearer. The original Waltham porcelain-enamel dial is outstanding—bright, crisp, and completely free of chips, cracks, or hairlines. Clean Arabic numerals keep the layout readable, while refined golden cloud motifs mark each five-minute interval along the perimeter. At center, the Waltham signature is framed by a subtle golden floral element that adds balance without overwhelming the dial. The hands remain original and unrestored in their natural golden finish. It is uncommon to see spade-style golden hands paired with this type of dial, as many examples from the era used Louis XIV hands instead. Inside is Waltham’s 15-jewel Seaside movement, produced between 1896 and 1912. It features an exposed mainspring barrel and intricate damaskeening with layered patterns that shift under light. In our Little Rock workshop, every jewel setting, gear train component, and balance element was hand polished to recover its original golden brilliance. All screws and steel hardware were thermally blued one at a time over an open flame—a traditional, slow process that produces deep color and enhances corrosion resistance (read more here). Together, the bronze case, pristine dial, and restored movement showcase early American watchmaking in its best form—reimagined in a material that will continue to age, deepen, and develop character with every day of wear.
The movement is set in a custom 40 mm conversion case crafted from solid bronze. This size offers a balanced fit on the wrist, making it one of the most versatile proportions available in any conversion. The case is built with crown and caseback gaskets, tested to 50 meters of water resistance, though removal before swimming or showering is recommended. Fully serviced and regulated, this watch is ready for years of reliable wear and appreciation.
