American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

This Waltham timepiece was crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts and completed in 1897. It houses Waltham’s 15 jewel Grade X, a short run movement produced only between 1895 and 1902. The movement features an exposed mainspring barrel and crisp damaskeening that comes alive in the light. Screws and steel hardware were thermally colored by hand using traditional open flame techniques, adding rich blue accents while improving corrosion resistance (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden tone. The watch retains its original heat blued hands. The porcelain enamel dial is in near flawless condition, featuring elegant Roman numerals, red minute markers every five minutes, and a flowing cursive Waltham signature that completes the classic railroad era layout.

The timepiece is housed in our 40 mm surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case—one of the most balanced and wearable sizes for any American conversion. The case features both crown and caseback gaskets, offering water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is best to remove the watch before swimming or submerging it in water. Fully serviced and tested, the piece is ready for years of reliable performance and everyday wear.
