American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Our Heritage Bronze case is carved from solid bronze with 93% copper, giving it a warm rose gold tone that slowly deepens with time. The coined edge, curved lugs, and fully bronze crown are all designed to take on a rich evolving surface. It is a finish with life in it, one that continues to shift as the piece is worn. The original Waltham railroad porcelain enamel dial is in excellent condition. It is bright, crisp, and free of chips or cracks. Arabic numerals in the classic railroad style keep the layout clean, while the outer minute track features red numerals counting upward to 60 in five minute increments. At the center, the Waltham signature appears in all caps. The restored hands were polished to a mirror finish to remove corrosion, then heated over an alcohol lamp to impart an iridescent blue hue. The contrast of the blued steel against the white enamel dial is striking. Powering the piece is Waltham’s 15 jewel Grade X, completed in 1899. It features an exposed mainspring barrel and layered damaskeening that shifts under changing light. In our Little Rock, Arkansas workshop, every jewel setting, gear train component, and balance element was hand polished to restore its original golden tone. All screws and steel hardware were thermally blued one at a time over an open flame, a traditional method that produces rich blue colors and enhanced corrosion resistance (read more here). The result is a cohesive blend of bronze, enamel, and original blued steel. It brings early American watchmaking into a modern wearable form, wrapped in a material that will continue to age, deepen, and build character with daily wear.

The movement is set in a custom 40 mm conversion case crafted from solid bronze. This size offers a balanced fit on the wrist, making it one of the most versatile proportions available in any conversion. The case is built with crown and caseback gaskets, tested to 50 meters of water resistance, though removal before swimming or showering is recommended. Fully serviced and regulated, this watch is ready for years of reliable wear and appreciation.
