American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1904, this timepiece features a near-flawless porcelain-enamel dial with elegant black Roman numerals, vivid red minute markers around the perimeter, and an elegant cursive “American Waltham” signature exemplifying early-20th-century American craftsmanship. The original hands have been carefully restored using traditional thermal coloring to achieve a rich heat-blued finish. Inside beats Waltham’s 16-jewel Model 1890 movement—produced between 1898 and 1915—showcasing an exposed mainspring barrel and striking damaskeening. Every component was meticulously refinished: screws and hardware received precise hand-applied thermal bluing (read more here), while the jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand-polished to restore their original golden sheen. This combination of a pristine dial and expertly restored movement embodies the elegance and durability of vintage American watchmaking.
The timepiece is housed in our 40 mm surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed for one of the best fits available in any conversion. Engineered with both caseback and crown gaskets, it offers water resistance up to 50 meters (though it is recommended to remove the watch before water activities). Fully serviced and carefully inspected, this watch is ready for your next adventure.
