American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

This Waltham is powered by the PS Bartlett grade—common in larger formats but extraordinarily rare in this size. This grade comes from a broader run of Seaside grades, with only a few movements in the run stamped PS Bartlett. This example dates to 1902, with production for this grade spanning 1896 to 1912. The movement features an exposed mainspring barrel and a nickel finish decorated with elegant damaskeening, the engine turned pattern that gives the plates depth as they shift in the light. Every surface was restored using careful, traditional handcraft. Screws and hardware were thermally blued over an open flame, and the jewel settings (read more here), gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to bring back their warm golden brilliance. The porcelain enamel railroad dial is equally compelling—crisp Arabic numerals, vivid red minute markers around the perimeter, and a bold Waltham signature. Its balanced proportions and sharp detailing pair perfectly with the restored movement beneath. To complete the period correct aesthetic, the hands were re blued using slow, controlled thermal coloring to achieve a deep, even tone against the bright enamel surface. A piece that feels every bit like the railroad era personified.

The timepiece is housed in a surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case with a 40 mm diameter—offering one of the best fits for any conversion available. The case includes both caseback and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
