American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

This Waltham Royal from 1899 is about as rare as it gets, with only 4,980 produced between 1897 and 1901 in Waltham, Massachusetts. On the movement side, the piece retains its original golden screws as finished by Waltham at the time of manufacture. We complemented those original details with our signature hand thermal coloring, carefully bluing select steel components over an alcohol lamp (read more here). The result is a striking contrast between original golden accents and deep blue hardware. Dial side features the iconic American railroad-style porcelain enamel dial, with crisp Arabic numerals, a sub-seconds register, and a minute track accented by red indices. The layout follows strict railroad standards, reflecting a period in American watchmaking when precision and legibility were not optional, but required.

The timepiece is housed in our 40 mm surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed for one of the best fits available in any conversion. Engineered with both caseback and crown gaskets, it offers water resistance up to 50 meters (though it is recommended to remove the watch before water activities). Fully serviced and carefully inspected, this watch is ready for your next adventure.
