American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

This multichromatic porcelain-enamel dial is incredible with one of a kind colors, decorations, and jewels throughout. At the center is a dual script signature with “AMERICAN” in all caps and “Waltham” in elegant cursive—a combination of two distinct styles reserved for only the most impressive dials. Flowing outward is golden branching that transitions into a blue circular motif with inverted silver triangles. The dial features Arabic numerals with alternating golden and silver stars placed between each numeral. Finally, the outer minute track carries red jewels at each five minute increment. Taken together, this is one of the most detailed and impressive multichromatic dials we have ever come across. Beneath the dial is Waltham’s 15 jewel Seaside movement, produced between 1896 and 1912. The caliber features an exposed mainspring barrel and richly executed Geneva stripe damaskeening throughout. Every component was carefully restored and refinished in our Little Rock, Arkansas workshop. Screws and steel hardware were thermally blued by hand over an open flame, improving corrosion resistance while adding subtle visual contrast (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden sheen. The result is an exceptional piece, pairing a truly one of a kind porcelain-enamel dial with Waltham’s historic Seaside movement.

The timepiece is housed in a surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case with a 40 mm diameter—offering one of the best fits for any conversion available. The case includes both caseback and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
