Hamilton Watch Co. was in operation from 1892-1969 and manufactured some of the highest end, most accurate watches ever produced. Manufacturing of Hamilton watches took place at their facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Crafted in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1928, this timepiece is powered by the Grade 912, a 17 jewel in-house movement produced by The Hamilton Watch Company from 1923 to 1937. The silver metal dial is in exceptional condition for its age, showing remarkably little wear. The original heat-blued lance hands remain unrestored and retain the vivid blue tone Hamilton imparted during manufacture in 1928. Lance hands were still relatively uncommon during the early 1900s, as the style did not gain widespread popularity until the mid-20th century. Together, the dial and early example of lance hands create a striking interplay of blue and silver across the watch face. On the movement side, every component was carefully refinished in our workshop in Little Rock, Arkansas. Screws and steel hardware were thermally blued one at a time through controlled heating over an alcohol lamp, a traditional watchmaking technique that improves corrosion resistance while adding rich blue contrast to the movement (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden luster. The result is a movement that reflects the brilliance it would have displayed when it first left the Hamilton factory nearly a century ago, while preserving the character that makes these early American movements so compelling today.
The timepiece is housed in a new 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case is equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, although we recommend removing the watch before water activities. The watch is fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures.
