Hamilton Watch Co. was in operation from 1892-1969 and manufactured some of the highest end, most accurate watches ever produced. Manufacturing of Hamilton watches took place at their facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Crafted in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, in 1930, this timepiece is powered by Hamilton’s Grade 912, a 17-jewel in-house movement produced by the Hamilton Watch Company from 1923 to 1937. The original metal dial features a beautiful combination of guilloché and relief work. The numerals are carved into the surface of the dial, while the center section and outer chapter ring are finished with finely engraved concentric circles. These varying depths and textures catch the light from different angles, giving the dial a dynamic presence that changes dramatically in both color and depth as the lighting shifts. The original heat-blued flame-tip hands complete the design. Named for their distinctive tips, which resemble the flame of a candle, the hands provide exceptional contrast against the dial while adding another subtle decorative element to the overall composition. On the movement side, every component was carefully refinished in our workshop in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. Screws and steel hardware were thermally blued one at a time through controlled heating over an alcohol lamp, a traditional watchmaking technique that enhances corrosion resistance while adding rich blue contrast to the movement (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden luster. The result is a timepiece that combines one of Hamilton’s most visually distinctive dial designs with the craftsmanship of its 17-jewel Grade 912 movement, preserving the character of American watchmaking as it appeared nearly a century ago.
The timepiece is housed in a our 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case is equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, although we recommend removing the watch before water activities. The watch is fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures.
