Rockford Watch Co. was in operation from 1873-1915 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Rockford watches took place at their facility in Rockford, Illinois.

This Rockford timepiece was manufactured in Rockford, Illinois, and completed in 1913. It houses Rockford’s in-house Grade 325, a 17-jewel movement with only 2,600 examples produced between 1908 and 1913, making this one of the final examples ever manufactured. The watch features a classic porcelain-enamel railroad dial prized for its legibility. The dial is in excellent condition with bold Arabic numerals, a clean minute track, and balanced proportions that make it exceptionally easy to read. The original hands were carefully restored in our workshop in Little Rock, Arkansas. Each hand was polished to remove corrosion, then individually heated over an alcohol lamp to restore the rich blue tone. The contrast between the blued hands and bright white dial gives the watch a crisp, highly legible appearance. On the movement side, every component was carefully refinished while preserving the original golden hardware. The plates were cleaned and restored to an even sheen, while the gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually polished to bring back their original golden luster. Rockford produced fewer than one million watches during its entire history before closing in 1915, making surviving examples increasingly difficult to find today—especially pieces retaining an original porcelain-enamel railroad dial in this condition. The preserved golden movement accents, restored blued hands, and railroad dial give this watch a presentation that reflects the character of early American railroad timekeeping.

The timepiece is housed in a new 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case is equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, although we recommend removing the watch before water activities. The watch is fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the timepiece comes with the original Rockford branded 14 karat gold filled case.
