Rockford Watch Co. was in operation from 1873-1915 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Rockford watches took place at their facility in Rockford, Illinois.

This Rockford timepiece was manufactured in Rockford, Illinois and finished in 1910. It houses Rockford’s in-house Grade 335, a 17 jewel movement produced between 1908 and 1915. Every movement component was carefully refinished in our Little Rock, Arkansas workshop, with all of the original golden hardware, jewel settings, and accents preserved. The plates were cleaned and refinished to restore their crisp, even sheen, while the gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually polished to bring back their original luster. The watch features a classic double sunk railroad dial made of porcelain enamel, a design prized for its legibility and durability. The dial is in excellent condition with bold numerals and a clean, well-proportioned layout. The hands were restored using our expert workflow: each was polished to remove corrosion and then heated over an alcohol lamp to achieve a deep, vibrant blue tone that pairs beautifully with the stark railroad dial. Pieces like this are exceedingly rare. Rockford produced fewer than one million total watches across its entire history and closed its doors in 1915, making surviving examples—especially those with porcelain-enamel railroad dials in this condition—difficult to find. The combination of the double sunk porcelain-enamel dial, restored heat-blued hands, and untouched original golden movement accents gives this Rockford a clean, authentic presentation that reflects the strength of early American railroad watchmaking.

The timepiece is housed in a new 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case is equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, although we recommend removing the watch before water activities. The watch is fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the timepiece comes with the original Rockford branded 14 karat gold filled case.
