American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Completed in 1925 in Waltham, Massachusetts, this timepiece features the 239 grade movement—a seldom-seen caliber produced in just seven runs between 1915 and 1931, totaling only 7,300 examples. Beyond its rarity, the movement is distinguished by a striking cross-hatched damaskeening pattern—an intricate lattice reminiscent of woven metal or a finely engraved chessboard. This geometric finish is unique to the 239 grade and sets it apart as one of Waltham’s most visually distinctive designs. The movement has been fully restored, with every screw and piece of hardware thermally blued by hand over an open flame (read more here). Each jewel setting, gear train, balance, and balance weight was individually polished to revive its original golden luster, adding warmth and depth to the plates. The hands retain their original factory finish, presenting a soft golden tone that complements the metallic dial. The dial itself displays an elegant floral motif at the center framed by bold Arabic numerals, while the outer minute ring adds structure and clarity with pronounced five-minute markers. The result is a composition that embodies both artistry and precision—an exceptionally rare Waltham that bridges the decorative traditions of early American watchmaking with the precision engineering of the modern age.

The timepiece is encased in a surgical grade 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
