American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.
At the heart of this 1927 Waltham lies a dial designed to capture light from every angle. The center features a stunning sunburst pattern, radiating outward with subtle depth and movement. Surrounding it are painted golden numerals, their warm tones contrasting beautifully against the dial’s metallic finish. Beyond the numerals runs a finely detailed outer minute ring, followed by a serpentine guilloché border that completes the composition with texture and refinement. Together, these layers create a remarkable sense of dimension and craftsmanship that few dials from the era can match. Powering the piece is Waltham’s 17-jewel Grade 225 movement, crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts between 1903 and 1934. Each component has been restored with precision—the screws and hardware were thermally colored by hand to achieve a deep, lustrous blue (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were all individually hand-polished to restore their original golden sheen and brilliance.
The timepiece is housed in our surgical-grade 316L stainless steel conversion case, engineered for both durability and comfort. Adjustable lugs allow easy winding and setting while ensuring a perfect fit across a range of wrist sizes. The case is equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters—though we recommend removing the watch before swimming or other water activities.
