American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

The fancy porcelain-enamel dial on this piece immediately stands apart. At the center sits Waltham’s signature in all caps, surrounded by subtle golden motifs that weave between crisp Arabic numerals. Along the perimeter, a precise minute track is anchored by inverted triangles at each fifteen-minute interval, with half-gold markers dividing the five-minute increments. At first glance the dial feels restrained, but the more time you spend with it, the more detail begins to reveal itself. Beneath the dial is Waltham’s Grade No. 240, a 17 jewel in house movement completed in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1897. This grade was produced for only a short window between 1896 and 1902, with approximately 6,700 examples manufactured. Every component was carefully refinished in our workshop in Little Rock, Arkansas. Screws and steel hardware were thermally colored by hand over an open flame, producing deep blue accents (read more here), while the jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden tone. The result is a piece that balances clarity and depth on the dial side with a fully revitalized movement beneath, staying true to Waltham’s original work while making it ready to be worn and appreciated again.

The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
