American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

This timepiece features a multichromatic porcelain enamel dial with bold blue numerals and a matching blue Waltham signature. Along the perimeter are golden circular motifs, with larger markers at each five minute interval. The sub seconds register carries the same blue tone, creating a cohesive and balanced display. Despite the golden minute track and vibrant color palette, this dial is technically railroad grade, evident in its clarity, precision, and ease of reading. Beneath the dial is the Waltham Riverside movement from 1903, a 19 jewel in house caliber produced between 1895 and 1922. Every component has been meticulously refinished. Screws and steel hardware were thermally colored by hand over an open flame, producing deep blue accents that enhance both corrosion resistance and contrast (read more here). The original hands were polished to a mirror finish to remove corrosion, then heat blued to achieve an iridescent tone that stands out crisply against the white enamel surface. The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were each individually hand polished to restore their original golden luster. The porcelain enamel dial remains in flawless condition, and the interplay of blue, gold, and white creates a display that is both highly legible and visually striking.

The timepiece is encased in our 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
