American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts, and completed in 1908, this Waltham timepiece features the Riverside movement—a 19-jewel, in-house Waltham workhorse produced between 1895 and 1922. Every movement component has been meticulously refinished, featuring elegant blue accents on the screws and hardware, achieved through precise open-flame thermal coloring using traditional watchmaking techniques (read more here). The watch hands were not restored and remain in their original heat-blued condition. The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were each individually hand-polished to restore their original golden luster and sheen. The Waltham dial is porcelain enamel and in excellent condition, featuring an elegant Waltham cursive logo and uniquely shaped, highly legible numerals. The heat-blued hands contrast brilliantly against the white porcelain-enamel dial, making time-checking a visual delight.
The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure. Because of our dedication to preserving American watchmaking history, the original 14 karat gold filled pocket watch case will be included as well.
