American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Completed in 1897 in Waltham, Massachusetts, this timepiece showcases the Royal grade movement—a 17-jewel in-house caliber produced by Waltham between 1895 and 1922. The movement has been meticulously restored, with each screw and piece of hardware thermally blued by hand using a controlled open-flame process (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand-polished to revive their original golden luster, bringing depth and warmth back to the plates. The hands remain in their original factory finish, displaying a deep, iridescent blue that contrasts beautifully against the porcelain-enamel dial. The dial itself is in excellent condition, featuring Roman numerals framed by red minute markers that add subtle rhythm and color. Together, the composition strikes a balance of refinement and character—an enduring example of Waltham’s craftsmanship at the close of the 19th century.

The timepiece is encased in a surgical grade 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
