Illinois Watch Co. was in operation from 1869-1948 and produced some of the most renowned railroad-grade movements ever manufactured. Watches were produced in their factory in Springfield, Illinois.

This Illinois timepiece was crafted in Springfield, Illinois in 1915 during World War I. It is powered by the renowned A. Lincoln grade movement, a 21 jewel in house caliber produced by the Illinois Watch Company between 1907 and 1928. This specific variant, with the crown positioned at 3:00, is one of only 2,500 ever manufactured. Every movement component has been meticulously refinished, with blue accents on the screws and hardware achieved through precise hand applied thermal treatment using traditional watchmaking techniques (read more here). The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were each individually hand polished to restore their original golden luster. The watch hands were restored in the same manner and thermally colored to match the movement hardware. The Illinois dial is porcelain enamel with bold Roman numerals that lean more assertive than the thin, elegant Roman styles typically seen from the era. A minute track with bold triangular markers every five minutes adds clarity and structure, a motif carried into the sub seconds register as well. The result is a dial that is clean, highly legible, and exceptionally well designed.

The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your future adventures.
