American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.

he iconic Waltham Riverside Maximus is as good as it gets. This was Waltham’s flagship, top of the line movement, and the first time we have ever converted this grade. The movement features 23 jewels, with the entire gear train jeweled, a jeweled barrel, and cap jewels on the escapement. The result is a low friction movement built for ultimate reliability. On the dial side, this piece features a tapestry dial with beautiful striping. The dial is cut from solid silver and fitted with applied numerals. The original plum hands remain untouched and provide excellent contrast against the metal surface, tying the entire design together. Beneath the dial sits Waltham’s Riverside Maximus grade, a 23 jewel in house movement produced between 1897 and 1919, with only 10,013 examples ever manufactured. This piece was completed in 1915, making it one of the very few produced during World War I. Every component was carefully refinished in our workshop in Little Rock, Arkansas. Screws and steel hardware were thermally colored by hand over an open flame, producing deep blue accents (read more here), while the jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand polished to restore their original golden tone. The result is a piece that balances clarity and depth on the dial side with a fully revitalized movement beneath, staying true to Waltham’s original work while making it ready to be worn and appreciated again.

The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
